The University Austral is an institution of higher learning started by the Civil Association for Higher Education (ACES), an entity not motivated by personal profits or gains. The Prelature of Opus Dei, a sect of the Catholic Church, is responsible for the spiritual orientation and focus of the university, which offers a religious education based in the Christian tradition. The school operates out of a building in Puerto Madero, where one finds the faculties for law, communications, engineering and business, as well as the Institute of Sciences for the Family, and the School of Education.
